Christmas lights glow as contest winner recognized for his service

Even the low temperatures of Monday night couldn’t take away the warmth of a very special holiday surprise.

Medic One First Responder Larry Hays and his wife, Britteny, came home to a fully decorated house after winning the Light Up Their Hearts Contest, sponsored by Ground Crew LLC, Mattress King, and Jonesboro Radio Group.

Throughout the month of November, Fox 104.9 and Mix 106.3 listeners were encouraged to nominate the most deserving first responder to win a home fully decked out in holiday décor and to win a $500 Visa gift card to help them make the season a little bit brighter. Hays was ultimately nominated 11 times by friends, coworkers, and family.

Surrounded by family, friends, several employees from the sponsoring businesses, and Santa, Larry pulled his family close listened as Trey Stafford explained why he received the award. The full announcement can be viewed in the video attached to this story.

Tim Smith joined the Jonesboro Radio Group as an account executive in 2010. Tim has spent the last 20 years in outside sales with 10 of those being in media. Tim loves helping his clients achieve their goals by creating persuasive advertising campaigns that drive traffic to their business and increase their revenue. Tim is a 1982 graduate of Arkansas State University with a B.S. in Marketing. He lives in Paragould with his wife, Jan. They have two sons, Jeremie and Drew; and Maggie, the family pet. In his spare time, Tim enjoys sports (Go Cards), the outdoors, traveling, and spending time with his family.
