Station: KEGI (100.5 The Eagle Rocks)

I’m looking for someone to join our Saga team (Jonesboro Radio Group) in Jonesboro, Arkansas as the program director and on-air talent for our classic rock station, KEGI (100.5 – The Eagle Rocks).

Rick Christian has been on this station since high school.  Started working weekends, did mornings, then midday, and has been the station’s program director for the last 20 years.  He is getting out of radio.  Wants to find a new passion.  He can tell you the story, and I welcome you to contact him direct

– I need a soldier to lead and drive The Eagle to be the biggest and best it can be.

– I would love to interview you if you have experience programming a successful classic rock station.

– I would love to interview you if you have history doing compelling, live radio.

– I would love to interview you if you are a radio geek, you’ve been a student of programming and all things radio, and you’re looking for the chance to show what you can do.

– I would love to interview if you love rock and roll, love radio, and would love managing and orchestrating efforts to make our classic rock station as big as it can be.

Jonesboro is an hour Northwest of Memphis. This is an incredible opportunity for the right person to lead the market’s highly rated, successful, popular classic rock station (KEGI – 100.5 The Eagle).  There will be other opportunities as well. Our group includes five other stations:  KDXY (104.9 The Fox – Country), KJBX (Mix 106.3 – AC), KDXY-HD2 (Hot 107.5 – Rhythmic CHR), KDXY-HD3 (ESPN 92.7 – Sports), and KJBX-HD2 (98.5 The Outlaw – Classic Country).  Rob West, our Operations Manager, does afternoons and programs country KDXY (104.9 The Fox).  He also programs KJBX and KJBX-HD2.  I program our sports station, KDXY-HD3.  Rob will need help overseeing KDXY-HD2.  And other opportunities will be customized based on your interest and talent level.

Surely you’ve heard about Saga Communications.  We are a small public company based in Grosse Pointe, Michigan.  Our leader is Ed Christian, President/CEO.  Our programming leader is Bob Lawrence.  This company lives and breathes and loves real, live, local radio.  And no market does it better than we do in Jonesboro.

What does Saga Communications have in common with Arkansas State University, Nestle Foods, Frito Lay, Post Cereals, Stouffers Food, Butterball, Unilever, Riceland Foods, Busch Agri, NEA Baptist Hospital (with its new half-billion dollar facility) and St. Bernards Medical Complex?
