Part-Time Assistant Traffic Director
A traffic assistant helps manage the advertising on our radio stations and digital products to ensure it stays on track during broadcasts. Reporting to the traffic director, your job duties as a traffic assistant include guaranteeing that advertisements meet the requirements of contracts, overseeing the ad copy, scheduling ad airtimes, and making sure the customers who bought the advertising are pleased with the results. The preferred qualifications to begin a career as a traffic assistant include a bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, or journalism, although a high school diploma may be sufficient for this entry-level role. Attention to detail, the ability to understand complex advertising contracts, and the ability to perform other duties as necessary are required skills. A successful traffic assistant possesses strong organizational and data-entry skills and can gain initial experience through on-the-job training. This part-time job involves interacting with the public in our greeting area. Therefore, other useful qualities include interpersonal skills. EOE

Chief Reporter
Jonesboro Radio Group is looking for an energetic, driven, digital-savvy reporter for the online local news site JonesboroRightNow.com. The chief reporter will have opportunities to cover a wide array of topics as part of a trusted local news team.
Typical duties will include:
- Reporting, writing, and posting news articles on a variety of topics.
- Writing multiple articles per day.
- Taking photos and videos as needed.
- Crafting and posting social media content (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter).
- Using audience metrics to improve story ideas and storytelling strategies.
- Engaging with the community to develop sourcing, both in-person and on social media.
- Representing the company to the public to provide excellent customer service.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or a related field.
- Journalism experience as an intern or in college media.
- Top-notch writing ability.
- Active engagement in social media platforms.
- The ability to learn and adapt quickly to emerging technologies.
- Teamwork skills for effective work in a collaborative, supportive environment.
